We’re off (almost)

Friday, August 19th, 2005

I’m about to turn off the modem and pack it up. We’ve got most of the house packed. There’s a litle stress in the air, but we’ll be ready for the movers in the morning. Then we’re off to Vermont for a week. Here we go…

Last Harvest

Although our move to Cambridge is exciting for many reasons we are all a bit sad to leave our home in Roslindale. Our biggest sacrifice is our yard. In Cambridge our yard is smaller than our couch and we have to share it. The funny thing is that we probably use our yard more than many people who insist that they have to have one. Today I harvested our potatoes and a bunch of cucumbers. Even though I have way too much to do to get ready for the movers on Saturday I made pickles today from the cukes. If you invite us over any time soon you might just get a jar of them. Farewell Roslindale.

Wisconsin

Nathan and I had a lovely trip to Wisconsin last week. Nathan was a fine traveling companion despite the delays both ways. He decided that he wants to be a pilot so he can touch the nose and propellers of the airplanes. We took a little propeller plane for one leg of the journey and Nathan was quite jealous of the pilot who was checking things over before we left. On the other hand he kept saying “Be careful” as he watched him spin the propeller.

Of course there was more to the trip then airplanes. We had a lovely time visiting Rara Debi and Dooda Mike who showed us around Neenah and Appleton. We had some great food and had fun weeding the garden. We even got to have some cheese curds. YUM!

Nathan had a great time playing with the many pillows that are to be found at the house –even outside! Here he is coming back from the yard with Rara and a big load.

And here he is is involving Dooda in the game.

…on a condo in Cambridge, and it’s been accepted. Things are moving so quickly. If all goes well, we’ll be living in Cambridge on September 1. This photo is from the realtor listing. The photos aren’t great, and don’t do the place justince, but you can see the full set.
